Blog – WE ARE LAVA

  • Hey, Jack Turban! “Nah-UH!” Is Not Research
by The 21st Century Salonnière on 5 August 2022 at 9:17 pm

On the surface, it all looks very impressive: a UCSF professor publishing in Pediatrics. Except the article doesn’t come close to supporting its own claims. This is one of the most content-free articles I’ve ever seen published in a medical journal.

  • The movement isn’t moving
by Dianne Landy on 26 July 2022 at 3:17 am

All women and children will loose out if feminists don’t work together. We need each other! We don’t care about the bullshit and neither should you. Get on with the job! We don’t have to like each other. That’s irrelevant. Gaining friends is a bonus, not the reason for these groups. Remember this.

  • Should Feminists Work with the Right?
by Josephine Bartosch on 18 June 2022 at 11:53 pm

The women’s movement is resurgent, yet every day brings more examples of what Phyllis Chesler recognized as “women’s inhumanity to women” — of trashing, smearing and the vicious vanity of small differences. The latest has cleaved along that man-made fault of left and right; a conservative man, Matt Walsh made a film about the threat of transgenderism called ‘What is a Woman?’.

  • NZ Media: Mouthpiece for an ideology?
by Marg Curnow on 12 June 2022 at 1:49 am

I am disappointed, but not surprised about the Nelson Mail article on the “rainbow backlash” against the CATA conference on the treatment of children and young people presenting with gender dysphoria. It is unfortunately a typical media response to allegations of transphobia, hate and bigotry made by “trans” allies who claim to speak for the rainbow community. Well, I’m a lesbian and part of this community, and they certainly don’t speak for me or for most of my lesbian friends.

  • Setting the Record Straight on Second-Wave Feminists
by Phyllis Chesler on 15 May 2022 at 12:00 am

On April 19, conservative publication The Federalist published an article titled “Second-Wave Feminists Pushed The Sexual Revolution To End America, And It’s Working.” The think piece by Carrie Gress, a Catholic, anti-abortion theologian, blames a group of 12 women, led by Kate Millett, for the rise of the trans movement and the general degradation of American culture. Phyllis Chesler says, “I must strongly protest most of what Carrie Gress has written.”

  • Grieving for my Culture
by Dianne Landy on 8 May 2022 at 12:00 am

I’m sat here, wondering where and how did it all go so wrong, so fast? Children are being sterilised at an alarming rate globally. No one is safe from this Trans Juggernaut. Native people of standing in the community have swallowed this cult’s dogma entirely. They know they are lying, and we know they are lying, so where to from here?

  • The homophobia of InsideOUT
by Garwhoungle on 1 May 2022 at 12:15 am

If my kids’ sexuality evolves into exclusive same-sex attraction, they’ll be hard pushed to find a word to describe themselves. 1* Is this because I homeschool them, in line with some fundamentalist religion that says homosexuality is a sin? Nope. Is it because I send them go to a conservative school where the words gay and lesbian are not mentioned for fear of giving kids unwholesome ideas? Nope. It’s because I send them to a perfectly normal co-ed, New Zealand state secondary school. And at that school they might well be visited by, or see pamphlets authored by, the diversity champions called InsideOUT.

  • More questions than answers
by Latschluder on 17 April 2022 at 3:43 am

If I were to tell you that as a 13 year old I have never been influenced by my friends – would you believe me?

  • The Divisiveness of Others
by Latschluder on 26 March 2022 at 11:34 pm

How important is it for lesbians to draw a line in the sand between “I’m going to use ‘she’ for my male friend who wants to be a woman” and “we can not give up an inch of womanhood”?
